Owner-operated water treatment for city water and private wells. We test your water first, show you the results, and design a system around what your home actually needs.
JP'S WATER CO LLC is owned and run by J. Vernon Pumphrey, the “JP” in the name. With over 10 years in the water treatment industry, Vernon works directly with every homeowner, from the first water test through the final installation.
We are based in Bay County and serve homes across Panama City and the Florida Panhandle. Our approach is simple: test first, explain the results in plain language, and only recommend equipment your water actually calls for.
Calls and texts go straight to the owner, not a call center. During business hours, you get a real person or a callback within the hour.
Whether your home runs on municipal supply or a private well, JP'S WATER CO LLC sizes every system from your actual test results and household needs.
Softeners sized to your exact hardness number and household size to stop spots on dishes, film on shower doors, and scale buildup on fixtures and appliances.
Activated-carbon filtration that removes chlorine taste and odor at every tap. Options include compact combination systems, dual-tank packages, and independently backwashing stages.
Test-designed systems for hardness, iron staining, sulfur (rotten-egg) odor, sediment, and other well conditions common across the Panhandle.
Compact under-sink reverse osmosis systems that deliver great-tasting, dedicated drinking water right from your kitchen.
Multi-stage treatment combining filtration, softening, and UV for homes that need a more complete solution.
We test at the tap, show you the readings, and give you a written, itemized quote on the same visit, good for 30 days.
You do not need to know water chemistry to describe your water. Find the one that sounds like your home.
Usually: Chlorine from municipal disinfection.
Fix: Activated-carbon filtration. A softener alone will not fix this. Filtering and softening are two separate jobs.
Usually: Calcium and magnesium hardness, found on both city and well homes here.
Fix: A whole-home softener sized to your hardness number and household size.
Usually: Hydrogen sulfide, most often on a private well.
Fix: Oxidation and filtration sized to your sulfur reading. Sometimes it is the water heater instead, which is a much cheaper fix.
Usually: Dissolved iron, common in Panhandle wells and often alongside sulfur.
Fix: An iron filtration stage ahead of the softener, or oxidation and injection for heavier iron.
A clear, no-pressure process with JP'S WATER CO LLC from start to finish.
Let us know if you have city water or a private well, and share the issues you want to improve.
We test your water at the tap and look at household demand, plumbing, and installation needs.
We explain each treatment stage, maintenance expectations, and complete pricing, all in writing.
Equipment, installation, and plumbing are listed as separate lines. Every quote is good for 30 days so you have time to decide.
You see the full number in writing before you decide. No surprises after installation.
Vernon handles your project personally, from the water test through installation.

JP'S WATER CO LLC is based in Bay County and travels throughout the Panhandle. Near the edge of our area? Reach out and we will tell you straight whether it is a fit.
It depends on what your water test shows, so any number given before testing is a guess. JP'S WATER CO LLC provides a written, itemized quote that is good for 30 days. Equipment, installation, and plumbing are separate lines, and the price we quote is the price you pay.
Yes. We test your water at the tap at no cost, show you the readings, and give you a written quote on the same visit. There is no obligation to buy.
No. Softening and filtering are two different jobs. A softener handles calcium and magnesium, while chlorine requires activated-carbon filtration. Many city water homes need both.
Probably not. A smell only on the hot side usually comes from the anode rod in your water heater, not the well. That is a much cheaper fix that does not require a treatment system, and we will tell you so.
It happens, and we will say so. More often, hardness, iron, and sulfur readings come back higher than expected in this part of the Panhandle. Either way, you get your results in writing and decide what to do next.
Groundwater across the Panhandle moves through limestone, and even Bay County city water comes from a spring-fed source. That is why hardness can appear on both city and well water.
We are available 7 AM to 9 PM, 7 days a week. During business hours, you will reach a real person or get a callback within the hour.
Tell JP'S WATER CO LLC whether you have city water or a private well and what you want to improve. We will test, explain, and quote, all on the same visit.

Water appearance, taste, or odor does not determine whether water is safe. Treatment performance depends on water chemistry, system selection, installation, operating conditions, and maintenance. Representative equipment shown; final sizing and configuration depend on the home and water conditions.
